Arlington was originally known as Haysville and was settled in the 1830s. The city grew from the Memphis and Ohio railroad development and the creation of Withe Depot. Arlington has preserved its history through homage to its past. The Burrows Museum offers a collection of local memorabilia and historical items that was once a bank in 1905. The S.Y. Wilson & Company has served as Arlington’s commercial and social hub, founded in 1893 and still thriving. The Blacksmith Shop is one of the few working shops in the United States and is featured as an attraction in the Arlington in April festival.

In nearby Memphis, the city brims with hotspots such as Graceland, Beale Street, museums and casinos.
